I am a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. Upon request, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your benefits.
-
Yes. Therapy is available both in person in Torrington, Connecticut and virtually for clients located anywhere in Connecticut.
-
The therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of successful treatment. I offer a brief consultation to discuss your goals, answer questions, and determine whether my approach feels like the right fit for your needs.
-
I specialize in trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, nervous system dysregulation, life transitions, and helping adults who feel stuck despite years of personal growth. My work integrates evidence-based therapy with a deep understanding of how trauma is stored in both the mind and body.
-
Item descriptionMy work is integrative and tailored to each individual. Depending on your needs, treatment may include:
EMDR
Somatic and nervous system-informed therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Mindfulness
Yoga-informed therapeutic practices
Rather than relying on one approach, we'll work together to determine what best supports your healing.
-
Not at all. EMDR is one tool among many. Some clients choose to incorporate it into treatment, while others benefit from different therapeutic approaches. Together, we'll decide what feels appropriate and safe for you.
-
Trauma isn't stored only in our thoughts—it also affects the nervous system. Nervous system-informed therapy helps clients understand patterns like chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, shutdown, or hypervigilance while learning practical ways to restore regulation and resilience.
-
A Level of Care Assessment is a comprehensive clinical evaluation that helps determine the most appropriate level of treatment based on your current symptoms, functioning, safety concerns, and treatment history. Assessments may be used for treatment recommendations, court-related matters, or referrals to specialized programs.
-
Most assessments take approximately 60–90 minutes, followed by time to complete documentation and recommendations.
-
Your first session focuses on getting to know you—your history, current concerns, goals, and what has or hasn't worked in the past. There is no expectation that you'll share everything immediately. Therapy moves at a pace that feels safe and collaborative.
-
Choosing private pay allows therapy to remain focused on your needs rather than insurance requirements. There are no diagnoses submitted to insurance companies, greater flexibility in treatment, and the freedom to tailor care based on clinical need rather than coverage limitations.
-
Many people come to therapy after doing significant work but still feel stuck. Sometimes traditional talk therapy alone doesn't fully address the effects of trauma or chronic stress on the nervous system. My approach combines insight with evidence-based techniques that help create change emotionally, cognitively, and physiologically.
