Headshot of Erin Swett

Hi, I’m Erin Swett.

Something happened. Maybe a long time ago, maybe more recently. And no matter how hard you’ve tried to move forward, part of you is still stuck in it — showing up in your body, your relationships, your sleep, your sense of self.

You don’t need to keep pushing through alone.

My

Approach

My approach integrates EMDR, somatic-informed therapy, and Yoga Integrated Therapy — evidence-informed modalities that work with the whole person, not just the story they tell about what happened. Together we will work at a pace that feels safe, honoring both your resilience and your readiness.

I also bring a nuanced understanding of brain functioning and neurology to my work. Not everything that shows up in the therapy room is rooted in trauma alone — sometimes it is the literal wiring of the brain. Conditions like OCD and ADHD can look like, overlap with, and complicate trauma responses in ways that are easy to miss. Understanding how your brain is uniquely wired — and working with it rather than against it — can be just as transformative as addressing the wounds you carry.

I also have specialized knowledge in women’s hormonal health — including PMDD, perimenopause, and menopause — and the profound ways hormonal shifts can affect mood, relationships, cognition, and sense of self. These experiences are frequently misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and minimized. When we understand the hormonal landscape alongside the nervous system and the brain, a much clearer and more compassionate picture of what a woman is living through begins to emerge.

I also offer level of care assessments for adolescents and families navigating questions about the right level of mental health support — providing clear, compassionate clinical guidance when families need direction most.

Whether you are just beginning to name what you’ve been carrying or have been in therapy before and are ready to go deeper — I would be honored to walk alongside you.

Currently accepting new clients in person in Torrington, CT and virtually throughout Connecticut.
